Peter Kogler *

born in 1959 in Innsbruck,
Austria lives and works in Vienna

His room filling installations are visual messages made from plastics, fabrics and foils distinguished by their formal autonomy and uniqueness.

With his origin in painting pictures are open spaced, limitless fields which can be continued endlessly. The basis for this is Peter Kogler’s exploration of images of various communication systems: anthropological systems with brain coils, zoological systems with columns of ants and technological systems with intertwined tube formations.

His works overgrow walls, facades and bodies and lead to irritations in their perception. In the transformation of reality and art, he constantly redefines the relationship between art, life and technology in his works.
